Home of Innovation
Sponsored by Saudi Basic Industrial Corporation (SABIC) and located in the Science and Technology Park of King Saud University in Riyadh, the Home of Innovation is a cutting-edge institution devoted to the advancement of educational progress and sustainability.
Established to promote scientific and technological progress and to research issues unique to the Saudi Arabian environment, such as energy, desalination, and pollution, the House of Innovation is a standout of the 2,200-acre KSU campus.
Part of the facility is the High Performance Demonstration House, the first residential building in the Middle East to receive LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The High Performance Demonstration House is also net-zero, highlighting the progressive mission of the project. Other components include an energy recovery ventilator, insulated concrete form (ICF) exterior walls and an ICF roof, and MERV 13 air filters.
Another state-of-the-art component of the Home of Innovation is The Collaboration Center, which achieved LEED Gold certification. This project advances the vision of SABIC: To become the leading gateway for localizing industries and the hub where global and local innovators engage to create a better future.
